Seed Production

Seed is a very important component of production. Some of the crops are grown by me for seed production i.e.

Koshi variety of mentha root success received from CIMAP.

Foundation seed of potato variety Rajendra-1, Kuffari Anand, Kuffari Bahar, Kuffari Chipsona, Kuffari Kanchan & Leady Rojeta etc. received from different research institutes, horticulture & food preservation department were produce for further multiplication of seed.

Hardening of tissue culture banana at our own farm received from different agency were conducted & distributed among the group of farmers for cultivation of quality produce.

Observation of disease

Insects and pest were taken care and disuse with group farmers, then apply all the possible options like biological, mechanical and chemical control measures to control the major pest and diseases were observed as follows :

Tomato :

Fruit borer of tomato

Blight of tomato

White fly control

Stem rot & fruit rot

Damping off etc.

Banana :

Banana bittle

Rhizome rot

Nutrient deficiency

Potato :

Early and late blight

Stem rot or scab

Co-operative Farming

I started in 1990 the cultivation of banana through succors. In 1994 I started tissue culture splings which is difficult for individual procurement. Then I organize neighboring farmers & labours and started crop rotation with banana high value cash crop, hybrid tomato, potato and mentha cultivation. We started collectively marketing, input arrangement, transportation of produce.

Nowadays 4000 to 5000 farmers in the district, 10000-12000 farmers within state and 3000-4000 farmers from out of state were adopted these activities and benefited.
